Our Story

The team at nGAP has focused on acquisition systems for over the past 20 years. We have worked with experts in the field that include the Naval Post Graduate School, which resulted in the creation of a very innovative solution for deploying a lightning-fast acquisition process. Since the area of acquisition is very structured due to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), it is critical that any solution follow these voluminous, complicated, and ever-changing rules for acquisition.

At nGAP, we concentrate on creating a solution that is agnostic to the contract vehicle chosen and stay focused on reducing the cycle times necessary to accomplish the objectives.  Reduction in cycle times is key to cost reduction as well as fleet readiness.

Never has there been a greater need to help the US Navy—and the United States—than now. The creation of OAS, OCCM, and our Savantir products makes all of this possible today. Working with the Navy today we have had the ability to show insightful capabilities to not only mine their massive databases, but to automate manual processes to provide real time data and analytics.

The emphasis at nGAP is to present the tools to enable increases in fleet readiness by reducing cycle times on thousands of simultaneous changes in shipbuilding, maintenance, and modernization, thereby achieving another objective of the Navy, that being to do all this while reducing cost.

Expertise

Our expertise focuses on further development of solutions for extremely complex contracting requirements on massive projects such as warship maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). These projects involve the simultaneous coordination of contracts for dozens of job disciplines, varied contract vehicles, and ubiquitous contract change modifications.

We strive to reduce time needed for the contracting process, thus favorably impacting the project’s critical path, and speeding the warship’s return to mission readiness.

With nGAP and its team becoming experts in the acquisition process of the federal government, opportunities came along to work with the Navy. While looking at various issues that were topical, we examined issues relating to Readiness. Our investigator prepared a white paper (Private Shipyard Contracting Agility to Improve Fleet Operational Availability), for presentation to AFSEA in San Diego.
